Poplar Lane

In 1955 new houses were built on the left of the fairway with their gardens alongside the boundary hedge. In 1960, several poplar trees were planted to steer players away. The problem still existed, so in 1974 Mr W Lane had two bunkers laid on the left hand side of the fairway and removed the scrub to the right creating the dog leg we see today.

A strategic hole that requires a positional tee shot to the crest of the hill and to the right of the fairway bunkers. A long hitter using Driver may reach the green, but more often lose their ball! The sensible option leaves a mid to short iron to a large target green. Another undulating green that would be best served putting from below the flag wherever the pin position.
