Coronavirus - August 2020 update

We are all coming to terms with having to self-isolate and dealing with the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. This is of course having a huge effect on the game of golf and 'normal' activities up at The Club. We will be trying to keep you updated with everything that is going on through this trying period on this website and through the club's social media channels. This is what we can confirm so far (August 2020)


A one tee start and a tee time booking system has restricted the capacity of the course.

You can play golf by yourself, with people in your household or three other person from outside of your household. You must practise social distancing whilst doing so. (You can now play as a fourball.

You must pre-book your tee times. It is also advised that you arrive shortly before your time.

You can change shoes in the car park and are actively encouraged to do so.

You can play social golf

You can use practice putting and chipping greens

You can have lessons with The Club Professional if social distancing is obeyed.

Rakes are out of use so smoothing over sand with your feet and club is advised.


We are welcoming all Golf Societies to play any day of the week apart from Saturdays

Bar opening hours have been restricted to 11:00 to 19:00 Saturday to Monday and 11:00 to 21:00 Tuesday to Friday

Where possible entrance and exits are separated. Please follow the signage provided

Please use the sanitiser dispensers placed at key points around the clubhouse

‘One way’ systems are in operation in the bar, dining room and men's changing room; please follow the signage

Tables have been arranged to comply with the latest Social Distancing measurers to allow for safe movement by staff and customers and should not be moved

Doors and windows are open to improve ventilation (except in severe weather conditions).

Please leave empty glasses on your table where they will be collected by the staff.


We are now selling food that includes baps, pasties, sausage rolls and muffins.


All bar areas will be cleaned regularly and recorded.

Tables and seating areas will be cleaned after use, ready for the next customer.

Toilets are cleaned regularly and recorded.

Toilets to operate on a one in – one out basis where possible, please following signage.

If you notice any cleaning issues or have any concerns please notify the office


Staff have been fully briefed on their roles and training provided.

ALL staff will maintain the highest levels of hygiene regularly wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap following all guidelines.

PPE has been provided and will be worn in accordance with our internal guidelines and government recommendations.

Staff have been asked to reinforce social distancing rules and the Club’s guidelines in this document.

Kitchen staff – clothing will be worn in accordance with our Health & Safety Policy


On arrival, please order your food and drinks order from the bar queuing 2m apart.

Your contact details arerecorded in line with government guidance to assist with track and trace if required.

Order and collect your drink from the bar if you are going outside onto the balcony or sitting in the garden area.

Food and drink will be delivered to your table inside the clubhouse maintaining social distancing and avoiding any unnecessary contact.

Payment can only be made via the member bar card or ‘tap and go’ using a debit/credit card. We are a cashless operation.

The serving of food/drink and clearing of tables will be in line with our internal guidelines and the staff training provided.

If you have any concerns please notify a member of staff or ask for the General Manager.
