Founded in Dunstable in 1970. Alexander & Co is a group of property agents based in the south of England, specialising in residential lettings, sales, property management, and land and new homes. We’ve been helping people move for the last 50 years, guiding sellers, buyers, renters, and landlords every step of the way.

We have a long-established team of 120 experienced professionals across our branches, all of whom live and work in the communities they serve, bringing in-depth local knowledge and insight on the latest market trends. From an extended regional branch network - giving properties greater visibility - to investment in technology and annual vetting of local contractors, our services are shaped around the unique needs of our customers and clients.

The company has expanded significantly since it was founded, with additional offices in Aylesbury, Wing, Buckingham, Winslow and Bicester. Most recently, at the beginning of 2021, Macintyers of Brackley and Middleton Cheney became part of Alexander & Co, increasing our presence across the south of the country. Gloucestershire-based estate agents Peter Ball & Co also become part of the business in 2020.

Our local communities mean a lot to us here at Alexander & Co, and we are always delighted to support local charities – such as the Keech Hospice and food bank – and to partner with local sporting facilities too, like the Dunstable Downs Golf Course and Dunstable Town FC. Tring Brewery

The Tring Brewery Company was founded in 1992, reviving the traditional art of brewing in the picturesque West Hertfordshire market town of Tring. This was a town that, although steeped in brewing history, had been without a brewery for over 50 years. The locals were thirsty.

Founder, Richard Shardlow, an experienced brewer having worked for Greene King, Ruddles and Devenish got the show on the road and was joined in 2000 by Andrew Jackson from Whitbread, a man armed with both a brewing and retail background… and a scruffy dog.

To this day Richard and Andrew head up a dynamic team of staff, dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of product quality and service. Whether you are a first time visitor to our brewery shop or a long standing trade customer, we are always here to help, advise and meet your requirements.

When it comes to crafting our beers, we start with the finest UK barley… tonnes of it. Each grain milled on site to extract colour, flavour and aroma. Hops are meticulously sourced from all around the world, each one selected for the unique character it brings to a beer. Our beautiful water, filtered through the chalk of the surrounding Chiltern Hills acts as the perfect carrier, delivering with it an array of sensory pleasures. Of course there’s no forgetting our yeast. Millions of tiny little cells work exceptionally hard to produce alcohol, natural condition and that signature Tring flavour profile. The sum of many parts, lovingly combined for you to enjoy.

Now we’ve often been accused of picking some pretty unusual names for our beers but as with everything we do here, there’s a good reason. We’re proud of our location, the town, the surrounding countryside and the events and people that have defined this region. It’s why with every (unusual) name you’ll discover a connection to the surrounding counties.

It seems that folks like what we do. With demand increasing month by month we relocated to a new 30 barrel brewery in 2010 and have continued to attract new customers and gather industry awards. We’re not ones for bragging but the “awards wall” is full! Something to be proud of. On top of that 2016 saw a further increase in capacity.

There’s more to us than beer though. Without the support of our local customer base the brewery would not have grown as it has. This connection to Tring extends through the company with most of the staff living in the town. It’s for this reason that you’ll find us constantly engaging with the community. Through collaborations with local businesses to help promote regional awareness, supporting events, sports clubs and charities, we like to get involved. It’s the least we could do.

Buttle's - YOUR building partner

Buttle’s is one of the UK’s longest-established independent groups of timber and builders’ merchants. Founded over 100 years ago, it has built its reputation on being reliable, fair, and customer focused.

In 1919 following the end of the Great War, George Harold Buttle rented a railway arch in Kentish Town and began trading as a timber merchant – this very railway arch became Buttle’s first branch, and the company is still trading there today.

As the business grew and more space was needed, a former transport depot was purchased in St Albans to store timber. Success and further growth saw this quickly become Buttle’s second branch.

Employing a dynamic team of over 50 people, some of whom have been part of the Buttle’s family for more than 20 years, we now have four branches across Leighton Buzzard, St Albans, Enfield, and Kentish Town – all of which are open to both trade and the public. Our customers range from regional housebuilders, general contractors, local developers, and those simply looking to make home improvements – we welcome anyone to be part of the Buttle’s family!
